Autism Screenings

Is Autism a Possibility? We Can Help.

If you're wondering whether your child - or you yourself - may be on the autism spectrum, you don't have to navigate that uncertainty alone. Responding to Autism offers autism screenings for individuals ages 18 months through adulthood, right here in the Tri-Cities.

A screening is not a medical diagnosis. It is a professional evaluation designed to determine whether autism spectrum disorder is likely and whether a formal diagnostic evaluation is recommended as a next step.

Who Conducts the Screening

All screenings are conducted by Christine Lindgren, Founder and Director of Responding to Autism. Christine holds a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Autism and is trained on the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) - one of the most widely recognized and trusted tools in autism assessment. She also spent several years as a member of a formal autism diagnostic team, giving her deep, hands-on experience identifying autism across a wide range of ages and presentations.

When you schedule a screening, you are working with someone who has devoted her career to this field.

What to Expect

Your appointment begins with an intake conducted by our Autism Family and Adult Resource Coordinator, who will gather background information and help your family feel comfortable and prepared.

Christine will then conduct the screening, which includes:

  • A review of developmental and behavioral history

  • Structured screening tools validated for ASD detection

  • Direct observation and interaction with the individual being screened

  • Input gathered from parents, caregivers, or the individual themselves

The full appointment is approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

What is included in the $125 screening fee:

  • Initial intake with our Autism Resource Coordinator

  • The full screening session with Christine Lindgren

  • A written screening results report with findings and recommended next steps

  • Relevant resources for your family or individual situation

We are a private pay provider and do not accept insurance.

After the Screening

You will receive a written report summarizing the results and our recommendations. If further evaluation is indicated, we will help connect you with appropriate next steps and local resources.
